This well known meeting, matures with this 6th edition of the Grand Prix d’Athlétisme Région Guadeloupe. It is taking place in Baie-Mahault stadium. In 2009 it was a real success to all concerned parts: federations, participants, spectators, sponsors and partners.

For this 6th edition, a lot of athletes have been previously illustrated themselves during the Olympic Games of Beijing or at the Berlin World Championship. The “Grand Prix Région Guadeloupe” is now part of the preparation schedule to major events.

There is a willingness to take roots in the Caribbean landscape, taking advantage of the very good results of the different Caribbean countries during the last international competitions.
A strong will is shown by a major communication, in Guadeloupe as well as in different Caribbean countries (Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, ST Kitts & Nevis, Jamaïca, Ste Lucia, Bahamas).

This new edition highlights the important efforts done at first by the Région Guadeloupe, through its president Mr. Victorin LUREL, by all the partners involved and the huge work done by the organization committee (COL) and all its direct and indirect collaborators. Significant efforts and constant progresses in the research of quality are underlined in the post meeting official reports.

The key areas of the 2010 meeting are
  • A strong ambition: continue to grow to establish itself permanently in the hierarchy of international meetings offering to Guadeloupe the visibility it deserves, especially among the countries of the Caribbean.
  •

  • 2010, a meeting providing a high level of competition, including several medallists of the last Berlin Worldwide Championship.
  •

  • 2010, a time where all local, national, Caribbean and international medias will be particularly receptive barometers to the trains of athletes, especially without any major international issue this year.
  •

  • The Grand Prix Région Guadeloupe is an exceptional showcase to expose the Guadeloupean dynamism in sport politic and in its tribute to the national results of athletics.
